The Road Development Authority has announced plans to appoint an expert committee to investigate the recent collapse of a concrete beam along the Central Expressway between Kadawatha and Mirigama.
The proposed committee will consist of three experts tasked with assessing the incident. According to authorities, a preliminary report on the collapse has already been submitted.
The incident, which occurred on the 4th at approximately 5:45 pm in the Bemmulla Kadaoluwawa area, involved a concrete beam measuring around 35 meters in length. Additionally, concerns have been raised about the stability of two nearby beams, prompting heightened monitoring in the area by Road Development supervisors.
