Afternoon Showers Anticipated in Sri Lanka

The Department of Meteorology has forecasted showers across various regions of Sri Lanka today, primarily in the afternoon hours.

In the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces, as well as the Galle and Matara districts, showers or thundershowers are expected to occur after 2:00 p.m.

Additionally, there's a likelihood of showers or thundershowers in the North-central, Central, and Northwestern provinces, as well as the Mannar district, either in the afternoon or night.

Misty conditions may prevail in certain areas of the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and Central provinces, as well as the Galle and Matara districts during the morning hours.

For sea areas off the coast extending from Colombo to Matara via Galle, showers or thundershowers are forecasted for the evening or night.

Winds are predicted to vary in direction with speeds ranging between 20-30 kmph. The sea surrounding the island is expected to be slight, although there might be temporarily strong gusty winds and very rough seas during thundershowers.
