Today, the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) will convene to discuss the Ceylon Electricity Board's (CEB) proposed amendments to the electricity tariff.

The PUCSL pledges to consider all viewpoints before reaching a decision.

The Sectoral Oversight Committee on Alleviating the Impact of the Economic Crisis recommended a reduction of over 20 percent in the current tariff, a proposal echoing the CEB's suggestion to match the previous tariff increase from October.
