Employees of the State Pharmaceutical Corporation stationed at the Ratmalana storage facility and main office in Colombo have initiated a continuous strike starting from 8 am today. The strike action comes as a response to various grievances, prominently including salary anomalies, according to sources familiar with the situation.

The decision to stage the strike was reportedly taken after unsuccessful attempts to address the concerns of the employees through dialogue with the management. Despite prior negotiations, the unresolved issues led to the workforce opting for industrial action as a means to draw attention to their demands.

The strike, involving a significant number of employees from the Ratmalana storage facility and the main office in Colombo, is expected to disrupt operations and services provided by the State Pharmaceutical Corporation.
