Kelum Mudannayake, the president of the Kelaniya University Students' Union, has been apprehended by the Public Complaints Division of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) following his alleged involvement in a recent incident of ragging at the university.

According to police sources, Mudannayake had been evading police prior to his arrest.

His attempt to flee the country was foiled when he was intercepted at the Katunayaka Airport
