The Officer-in-Charge (OIC) of the Kuliyapitiya Police Station voluntarily surrendered to the Puttalam Magistrate's Court today amid allegations of sexually assaulting a female police constable.

Following an investigation launched by the Kuliyapitiya Division Senior Superintendent of Police, the matter was escalated to the court for scrutiny.

Appearing before the Magistrate, the OIC, represented by legal counsel, was granted bail on a bond of Rs. 500,000.

The court mandated monthly reporting to the Kuliyapitiya SSP's office until the next hearing on March 6.
