The National Centre for Good Governance (NCGG) of India has launched its inaugural executive batch of a specialized capacity-building program tailored for senior civil servants of Sri Lanka. The program, which commenced today in New Delhi, is scheduled from February 12th to February 17th, 2024.
Fourteen senior civil servant officers from Sri Lanka, holding positions such as Secretary to the Prime Minister, Deputy Solicitor General, Directors, and Executive Directors, are participating in the initiative.
The NCGG, an autonomous institution under the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Government of India, is dedicated to action research, studies, and capacity building in public policy and governance on both national and international scales.
The program aims to equip participants with essential skills and knowledge in areas such as Digital Governance, Anti-Corruption Strategies, and Public Policy Institutions. By imbibing best practices from India, senior civil servants from Sri Lanka are expected to drive positive change, enhance transparency, and strengthen governance in their country.
Experts from ministries such as Electronics and Information Technology, Commerce & Industry, and Rural Development, among others, will share their experiences with the visiting delegation, contributing to a comprehensive learning experience.
