Patali Champika Ranawaka, the leader of the United Republic Front, has strongly criticized Sajith Premadasa, the Leader of the Opposition and Member of Parliament for the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB). Champika Ranawaka's remarks came during a public event where he expressed discontent with Premadasa's leadership style.
Ranawaka asserted that they would not tolerate Premadasa's attempts to monopolize decision-making within the opposition ranks, stating that they will not allow him to run a one-man show. He also highlighted the repercussions faced by himself and a few other MPs for failing to comply with the Opposition's walkout during the recent President's speech on the government's policy statement in Parliament.
Furthermore, Ranawaka revealed that the time allotted for their statements in Parliament has been drastically reduced to a maximum of five minutes, allegedly on the orders of Sajith Premadasa. He condemned this action and warned against allowing any individual to hinder their actions or dominate the opposition's proceedings.
