Former UNP MP Likens President Ranil Wickremesinghe to World Leaders Lee Kuan Yew, Mahathir Mohamad, and Vladimir Putin

Former United National Party (UNP) Member of Parliament, Ashu Marasinghe, has drawn parallels between President Ranil Wickremesinghe and prominent world leaders Lee Kuan Yew, Mahathir Mohamad, and Vladimir Putin during a public rally of the UNP.

In a speech addressing the crowd, Marasinghe portrayed Wickremesinghe as a leader who shares characteristics with three significant figures in global politics.

He stated, "Ranil Wickremesinghe takes decisions anywhere and at any time without fear, similar to Russia’s Putin. Today we have a leader who is a combination of Lee Kuan Yew, Mahathir Mohamad, and Vladimir Putin."

Marasinghe went on to emphasize that 2024 presents an opportunity for significant change in Sri Lanka, asserting that the nation possesses all the necessary resources to enact crucial reforms, particularly in the realm of economic progress.
