Highlighting the gravity of the situation, she also pointed out a disturbing rise in internet-based crimes targeting women and children.

Speaking at a press conference, DIG Jayasundara emphasized the crucial role of parents and elders in fostering a safe environment for women and children. She stressed the importance of responsible behavior and urged parents to be vigilant in monitoring their children's online activities. In particular, she highlighted the need for prompt and confidential reporting of threats to release private information, including nude photos online.
