State Minister Sudarshini Fernandopulle said the number of COVID19 patients in Sri Lanka could be three times higher than the reported number of cases per day.
Speaking to the media, Fernandopulle said alarge number of asymptomatic patients could be travelling in public without adhering to warnings on travel restrictions.
"We strictly urge poeple to remain indoors. There is no other way to stay away from the virus," she said.
"People should stay at home at least for two more weeks to control the spread of the virus. Do not step out of the house unless it is absolutely essential," she added.
She expressed disappointmet with the reluctance on the part of the public to adhere to travel restriction warnings.
