The CCTV footage of the incident involving a national cricketer at a party in Matara has been deleted, a senior official at the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) told the media.

The cricketer was accused of trying to sexually molest a girl who was at the party.

The SLC has launched an inquiry into the incident and the cricketer was asked to give a statement to the cricket authorities.

In his statement, the cricketer has reportedly said he had no involvement in the alleged incident and it was one of his friends who was involved in it.

The cricketer had also refused to sign his own statement initally.
