MP Wijedasa Rajapakshe said he would not backtrack on his struggle against the Port City Bill even if the ruling party instituted disciplinary action against him.
"Let them institute legal action. And don't forget that there is a legal system in the country," Rajapakshe told Asian Mirror indicating that he would go to courts in the face of disciplinary action.
Minister Keheliya Rambukwella said at a media briefing held at the Ministry of Mass Media and Information that necessary steps were being taken to initiate disciplinary action against Wijedasa Rajapakshe.
At a media briefing chaired by Ven. Murutthettuwe Ananda Thera at the Narahenpita Abhayaramaya on the eve of the Sinhala-Hindu New Year, MP Wijedasa Rajapaksa raised a number of controversial issues regarding the Port City Bill.
He further stated that the President had reprimanded him and verbally abused him during a telephone conversation forcing him to reply to the President in the same language.
