An investigation is underway into a player representing the national cricket team who allegedly tried to molest a young woman at a party in Matara, Sri Lanka Cricket CEO Ashley De Silva said.

Although Sri Lanka Cricket has not yet received an official complaint regarding the incident, the investigation will be launched based on media reports and other reports, said de Silva.

A left-handed batsman representing the Sri Lanka cricket team has been accused of trying to molest a young woman during a party at a hotel in Matara.

When inquired, the Matara Police stated that no such incident has been reported.
