A woman arrested by the Terrorism Investigations Division (TID) has revealed that 15 women, including her, had taken a pledge to commit suicide attacks in front of terrorist leader Zaharan Hashim.
The suspect, identified as Mohamed Ibrahim Shahida, 24, was arrested by the Terrorism Investigation Division in the Hingula area in Mawanella on the 19th.
Five of these women were killed in a suicide attack on April 26, 2019, in a house in the village of Saindamarudu. Pulasthini Rajendran alias Sarah Jasmine, who is said to have escaped to India from the attack, has not yet been arrested.
Three people who took oaths with Shahida have been remanded. Police Media Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana stated that six others are in the Terrorism Investigation Division.
It has been revealed that 15 women have joined Shahida's group to attend classes on extremist lectures conducted by Saharan Hashim Kattankudy in 2018 and took the oath on the last day of their training.
