Famous Sri Lankan singer Umaria Sinhawansa says she is going through severe mental trauma due to a fake sex video that is being circulated online.
In an interview with a prominent online talkshow, Umaria said those who posted slanderous content online knew that she was not the person appearing on the sex video.
"But they continue to post damaging contet online. Don't they have mothers and sisters? What if the same thing happens to their mothers and sisters?" the singer aksed.
"Even though we know how to handle harrasment and abuse online, sometimes it becomes very painful. No matter how hard we try, it still gets to your head," she said while breaking out in tears during the show.
Umaria, one of the most popular young artists in Sri Lanka, is also a member of the panel of judges for the 'Teens' reality show aired on Sirasa TV.
