The final rites of former Speaker W.J.M. Lokubandara were performed today at the Kotikawatte crematorium.

Lokubandara died while receiving ICU treatment at the IDH due to COVID19. He was 79 at the time of his demise.

In his four decade long political career, Lokubandara had served as an MP, a cabinet minister and a provincial governor.
