Sri Lanka Cricket Team’s Scheduled Tour Of West Indies Postponed Amidst COVID19 fears

Sri Lanka’s scheduled tour of West Indies has been postponed, the Sri Lanka Cricket announced a short while ago.

The decision has been made amidst COVID19 fears as a national cricketer and the head coach of the cricket team have tested positive for the virus.

Lahiru Thirimanne and coach Mickey Arthur are currently under medical observation after they tested positive for the virus a few days ago.

Sri Lankan players were also expected to undergo an extensive physical fitness test ahead of their scheduled tour of West Indies.

Due to the unexpected developments, preparations for the cricket tournament have been halted and contact tracing measures are underway
