Five more petitions were filed before the Supreme Court challenging the 20th Amendment to the Constitution, stating that the draft of the 20A was illegal and it should be approved at a referendum and with a two-thirds majority in Parliament.
Accordingly, the petitions were filed by Ranjith Madduma Bandara (SJB), R.Sampanthan (TNA), Paikiasothy Saravanamuttu (CPA), Nagananda Kodithuwakku (Lawyer) and Anil Kariyawasam.
Earlier, a petition was filed in the Supreme Court challenging the 20A on Thursday (22).
