A minor tremor was reported in Kandy this morning as well, the Geological Survey and Mining Bureau said.

The tremor was recorded at 7.06 AM this morning. Residents in Digana, Aluthwatte and Ambakotta areas reported that they felt the tremor.

The exact reason for the tremor is yet to be established. Authorities are yet to confirm whether it was caused by an earthquake.

A similar tremor was flet in the Kandy Distrct on August 29 as well.
