The Matale Municipal Commissioner has stated that stern action will be taken against the suspended Mayor, Daljith Aluvihare if the latter does not return his official vehicles and other state resources.

The suspended Mayor has been given a deadline to return his officials vehicles and other state resources before September 02.

The Mayor has been suspended by the Provincial Governor after the Deputy Mayor and several others lodged a formal complaint against his conduct.

A special comission is expected to be appointed to probe the conduct of the Mayor.
