SLFP stalwart Susil Premajayantha was appointed the State Minister of Education Reforms, Open Universities and Distance Learning Promotion.
Premajyantha was among the SLFP ministers who did not receive any positions when the new cabinet and state ministers were sworn in at Magul Maduwa in Kandy.
The state ministerial portfolio given to Premajayantha was earlier assigned to MP Wijedasa Rajapakshe. However, the latter refused to be appointed a state minister.
