A ministerial sub-committee has been appointed to draft Constitutional amendments.

Ministers Ali Sabry, Professor G.L. Peiris, Nimal Siripala De Silva, Udaya Gammanpila and Dinesh Gunawardena will serve as the members of the committee.

The Cabinet today decided to abolish the 19th Amendment to the Constitution and draft a new constitutional amendment.

The motion seeking to abolish the 19th Amendment to the Constitution is expected in Parliament soon.
