The Provincial Council election will take place within the first two months of 2021, informed government sources said.

They added that the election would take place during the end of January or the first week of February.

The election was delayed by nearly four years due to issues in the delimination proceess.

The government is expected to present a bill to Parliament seeking to conduct the election according to the old electoral system (PR).
