Former chief negotiator between the Sri Lankan government and the LTTE, Erik Solheim said that he and other supporters of the peace process worked on the basis of instructions given by the then Sri Lankan government and the LTTE.
“If we had been successful, tens of thousands of lives had been spared,” Solheim tweeted in response to a tweet.
“We worked on the basis of instructions we got from the government of Sri Lanka and the LTTE. We worked closely with India and other supportes of the peace process. If we had been succesful, tens of thousands of lives had been spared,” he tweeted.
