Chairperson of the Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka Dr. Deepika Udugama has resigned from her position.

Udugama’s resignation will come into effect from September 2020.

She headed the Human Rights Commission which was strengthened under the provisions of the 19gb Amendment to the Constitution.

New members to the independent commissions will be appointed by the new Parliament which will convene after August 05 election.
