The government will resume the repatriation of Sri Lankans stranded overseas from Friday onwards.

The repatriation programme was suspended temporarily when the total number of COVID19 cases in the country surged.

However, the government now claims that the spread of the disease in the country has been controlled to a great degree.

Accordingly, measures have been taken to resume the repatriation of Sri Lankans who are stranded in other countries.
