SLPP Puttalam District candidate Sanath Nishantha was seen violating the law when he led a team of bike riders without helmets.

This controversial motorcycle parade seemed to be a part of Nishantha’s election campaign in the district.

Several Police officers were also seen in the vicinity when Sanath Nishantha violated the law in broad daylight. It was clear that Nishantha's motorbike did not have a number plate.

Sri Lankan traffic laws make it mandatory for bike riders to wear helmets and law permits stern action against those who violate the law.

Nishantha is also the SLPP district leader in Puttalam.
