The Samagi Jana Balawegaya staged a protest opposite the Prime Minister’s office against the statement made by Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa about former Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa not having children.

The silent protest was organized by the women’s wing of the SJB and several MPs, including Hirunika Premachandra, were present at the event.

They claimed that the Prime Minister’s statement undermined the reproductive rights of all women.

Meanwhile, several protests were also held in other parts of the country focusing on the same matter.
