Colombo Civil Appellate High Court today dismissed an appeal filed by Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) General Secretary Ranjith Madduma Bandara challenging Colombo District Court's order over the UNP party membership of 99 SJB members.

The Court also ordered the appellant-petitioner Ranjith Maddumabandara to pay a sum of Rs.25,000 as legal cost.

On June 22, the Colombo District Court refused to issue an enjoining order against UNP office bearers citing that the complainant has failed to disclose true facts relating to the expulsion.

Later, Maddumabandara filed an appeal at Colombo Civil Appellate High Court challenging Colombo District Court's order.
