Sri Lanka to establish e-gates at its airports in the future to enhance the passenger experience by speeding up the boarding process, Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka (CAASL) said.
The decision has been reached at a joint meeting, which was held with the participation of Major General (Rtd) G. A. Chandrasiri, Chairman of the Airport & Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) Limited (AASL), Upul Dharmadasa Chairman of Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka (CAASL), Capt. Themiya Abeywickrama, Director General of Civil Aviation, Ashok Pathirage, Chairman of SriLankan Airlines Limited and the officials from CAASL, AASL & SriLankan Airlines to discuss the future operational plans of the airports.
“The officials discussed the new health procedures, new operational prerequisites, security requirements which should be implemented at the airport against the COVID -19 global pandemic,” it added.
