Health Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi said the health guidelines pertaining to the Parliamentary election would be gazetted within the next two days.

Speaking to the media recently, Elections Commission Chairman Mahinda Dehsapriya said the health guidelines had not been gazetted and many candidates were conducting meetings in violation of social distancing practices.

The Commission Chairman said parties and candidates completely disregarded the recommendation to maintain one-meter distance during political rallies.

He also expressed disappointment at the government's failure to gazette the health guidelines on time.
