All propaganda rallies organized by the SLPP has been called off temporarily.

Accordingly, all rallies which are scheduled to take place under the auspices of the President and the Prime Minister for the next three days, have been cancelled.

Issuing a statement, SLPP General Secretary Sagara Kariyawasam said the arty's national organizer, Basil Rajapksa, has urged all candidates to limit their pocket meetings and other forms of election-related public gatherings.

Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa also advised all candidates to strictly adhere to health and safety guidelines when conducting election campaigns.
