The President has given two more weeks to the Cabinet of Ministers to study the MCC review committee report.

The President them more time to study the report and give recommendations when the matter was taken up before the weekly Cabinet meeting.

The report was prepared by a committee headed by Prof. Lalithasiri Gunaruwan and three others.

However, a number of parties, including former Finance Minister Mangala Samaraweera, has criticised the committee report for "lack of substance" and poor analysis of facts.
