Cricketer Kusal Mendis who was arrested after his SUV accidentally knocked down and killed a person in Panadura yesterday, has been released on bail.

The Panadura Magistrate released the cricketer on two personal bails of Rs. 1 Million each.

Medis was arrested last morning over the accident causing the death of a 64-year-old man.

The initial investigations have cleared the cricketer of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Mendis had claimed that he was returning from the wedding of a Sri Lanka Cricket employee and had fallen asleep at the wheel.
