SJB candidate S.M. Marikkar said a future government under Sajith Premadasa would not reduce the salary of government servants at least by a cent.

Addressing a press conference at the SJB office, Marikkar said the government servants, who overwhelmingly voted in favour of President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa, are now facing the music.

"The measures you see right now is only the beginning. More stringent measures will come after the election," Marikkar added.

"Sajith Premadasa does not believe in burdening the public. I can assure you that Premadasa will not allow anyone to reduce the salaries of innocent state-sector workers."

Marikkar said the government miserably failed in managing the economic crisis after the COVID19 outbreak in the country.
