Former Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa, accompanied by former Minister Harin Fernando, met Colombo Archbishop Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith a short while ago.

Fernando came under criticism last week as he questioned the conduct of the Colombo Archbishop in the run up to the last Presidential election.

Responding to the social media outrage, Premadasa publicy apologised to Cardinal Ranjith over his party colleague's remarks.

However, sources close to Premadasa added that the meeting between Premadasa, Fernando and the Colombo Archbishop was "very cordial."
