The Special Investigations Unit at the Ministry of Sports is currently recording a statement from former Sports Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage over his controversial match fixing claims.
The probe is being conducted following instructions given by the Secretary to the Ministry of Sports.
In a recent interview with a television channel, Aluthgamage said the final match of the ICC World Cup 2011 was fixed and the game was sold to India.
However, Aluthgamage did not produce any evidence to prove his claims. The statement came under severe fire from many parties including senior cricketers.
