Clearing the air on the confusion around electricity bills, the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) said the latest electricity bill received by consumers is the correct bill.
The CEB says in the new bill consumers have been charged according to the number of units they have consumed.
Meanwhile, Minister Mahinda Amaraweera said consumers are allowed to settle the electricity bill in instalments. He said the matter was discussed during the Cabinet meeting and he briefed the President on the implementation of this plan.
The Minister said the domestic electricity consumption in Sri Lanka had increased during the lockdown period.
