UNP National Organizer Navin Dissanayake today extended an invitation to former Minister Mangala Samaraweera who withdrew from the Parliamentary election earlier this week. ' Addressing a press briefing at Sirikotha, Dissanayake said the UNP had no issues about working with Samaraweera.

The UNP National Organizer said Samaraweera had already tendered a great service to strengthen the UNP.

He added the grand-old party always had room for politicians who are not corrupt.

Samaraweera's future political moves are still not clear. Some speculate that he will reunite with the UNP while some believe that he will continue to function as a member of the Samai Jana Balawegaya.
