Thirty Police officers, including the OIC of the Kollupitiya Police Station who were involved in dispersing protesters who gathered near the US Embassy on Tuesday, will undergo quarantine.

They will be sent to a facility in Attidiya for 14 days, police sources said.

Police arrested 53 protestors who gathered for a "Black Lives Matter" protest violating a court order. They were later released on bail.

However, the Police came under severe criticism from various quarters over the manner in which they arrested the protestors.
