Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa condemned the Police attack on Frontline Socialist Party members who gathered for a protest outside the US Embassy yesterday.

"The recent behaviour of some members of @SriLankaPolice2 shouldn't tarnish the track record of the entire Department & the great job done during #COVID19SL. I strongly condemn the assault on protesters, & call for it to be investigated & proper action to be taken," Rajapakasa tweeted.

His tweet came against a backdrop where some members of the government have justified the Police assault on protesters who gathered to express solidarity with the 'Black Lives Matter' movement in the US.

However, all FSP members who were arrested last afternoon have been granted bail.
