A large amount of cash brought to the Colombo National Hospital to pay overtime allowances of the hospital staff was robbed at gunpoint.

The Police said the money was stolen from the cashier of the hospital.

However, a suspect who carried out the robbery has been arrested with the stolen cash by the Police in Borella.

Further investigations are underway.
