A journalist who attended the funeral of former Minister Arumugam Thondaman has been asked to self-isolate due to suspicious symptoms.

The journalist has also undergone PCR testing, although the results of his report have not been made available thus far.

The journalist has reportedly covered the funeral when the former Minister's body was kept at his private residence in Battaramulla and the party headquarters.

Thondaman's funeral has sparked public outrage as the organisers defied quarantine regulations imposed by the government.
