The Elections Department has informed the Government Printers Department to initiate preparatory work to print ballot papers for the upcoming Parliamentary election.

The development comes as the hearing of FR petitions against the elections date has reached the last stages.

The Supreme Court is set to hear the case for the eighth day today and a ruling is expected soon.

The Elections Commission has reportedly informed the Government Printers Department that the new election date will be announced soon after the conclusion of the date.
