Ceylon Workers' Congress MP Arumugam Thondaman has passed away from a heart attack after he was admitted to Thalangama Hospital today.

The former Cabinet Minister of Livestock and Rural Community Development is the grandson of politician Savumiamoorthy Thondaman, and was an old boy of Royal College, Colombo.

He was 56 years old at the time of his demise.
