Sri Lanka has recorded its highest daily tally of 96 confirmed COVID-19 cases for the day so far.

Health authorities said 88 of them have returned from Kuwait. As a result of the soaring numbers among returnees from overseas, Sri Lanka has temporarily halted the repatriation programme.

In addition, 08 of the confirmed cases today are Navy Personnel.

Health authorities confirmed that all of them were undergoing Quarantine at military-run facilities.
