The state-run Independent Television Network today blurred a video of Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka when it aired a video on the end of the Eelam war.
Fonseka was the Commander of the Sri Lanka Army at the time of the conclusion of Sri Lanka's civil war.
The former Army Commander, who was jailed by the Rajapaksa administration in 2010, is a fierce critic of the current government. His military ranks were reinstated by President Maithripala Sirisena in 2015.
However, the ITN's move to blur Fonseka's video footage has come under severe criticism on social media.
Sudath Rohana, a film and teledrama director, is the Chairman of ITN.
