DIG Ajith Rohana denied claims that his daughter, who is studying overseas, was brought down to Sri Lanka on a special flight.

Speaking to reporters, Rohana said his daughter, a medical student, never intended to return to the country.

"She is preparing for her exams overseas and she never planned to return to the country in the midst of the COVID19 outbreak," he said.

Some social media reports said Rohana's daughter was brought down to Sri Lanka on a special flight with the assistance of a "media tycoon."
