Retired Major General A.K.S Perera has been appointed the Secretary to the Ministry of Mahaweli, Agriculture, Irrigation, and Rural Development.

Neil Bandara Hapuhinna, who previously held that position, has been transferred as the Secretary to the Ministry of Child and Women's Affairs.

New Secretaries were appointed to seven ministries today by President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa.

Another senior Military officer, Major General Sanjeewa Munasighe was appointed the Secretary to the Ministry of Health.
